Pre-Fall 2015 is sparked by a study in the elegance of aircraft mechanics.
A chromatic palette is drawn from the patinated surfaces of bronze, copper, iron and chrome. Textiles are burnished with soft metallic sheens, evident in the foil finishes on leatherette, ribbed jersey and metallic-printed lace.
Machinery-influenced motifs inspire both custom-designed textiles and hand-beaded embellishments. Lighter-than-air tulle is embroidered with sequins to mimic the geometric rivets of aircrafts while the mechanical gears inspire allover lasercut neoprene and bonded leatherette patterns.
Soft-sculpted silhouettes come to life with the strength of seaming. Sharp tailoring is offset by sheer cutaways; leather bomber jackets are paired with flowing floor-length skirts. Captivated by the lure of flight, high gravity days await us this fall.
