Lumière was founded in 1885 by Tokugi Furiya and is now into the 5th generation of winemakers currently with Shigeki Kida at the helm. The winery spares no effort in producing wines of the highest quality, with wines winning international awards consecutively over the last 25 years.

The state of the art new winery has also enabled Lumière to produce very rare sparkling Koshu – which is made using traditional champagne production techniques.

This method has two fermentation steps. First fermentation begins after harvest and press, most likely to still wines. This base wine is converted to sparkling wine. Second one is the bottle fermentation which creates natural carbonation. After these steps, our sparkling wines are aged in the bottle more than 12 months. We take non-dosage style to enhance delicate flavor and taste of the grapes.
