Samsara signifies "eternal rebirth" in Sanskrit and is part of the "wheel of life", a religious reference of Tibetan Buddhism. It evokes the perpetual voyage from one existence to the next, an invitation to serenity and harmony.
Created in 1989 by Jean-Paul Guerlain, Samsara is a homage to the woman of his life, his true revelation of love.
The bottle is flamboyantly red, a sacred colour, which evokes through the fullness of its shape a statue of a Khmer dancer. The stopper echoes the shape of the eye of the Buddha, a symbol of meditation, which leads the way to supreme awakening.
